My first topic is sexual assault and abuse cases in gymnastics and how to prevent it from happening in the future. This topic would be easy for me to write because I can relate to it. I can relate to this because I was mentally abused by a coach in gymnastics for over 9 years. I also was training for the olympics and went down to the Olympic Training Center and met Larry Nassar a year before the whole scandal with him got out. There is also so many things that have been written about the Nassar case and just abuse cases for gymnastics in general, which means I would have lots of resources. This is better then any other topic because this is the first thing that came to mind when Mrs. Tatum told us to chose something you can relate too. I also got excited about spending time researching and writing something about this.
My next topic is kids don't get enough sleep because school starts to early. This topic would be easy for me to write because I believe 100% that school starts too early. Especially for kids who do after school activities that end late. I think this topic is better then any other topic because I can relate too it and I barely get enough sleep due to after school activities which end at 9 PLUS I live an hour away from it, and on top of that having to finish homework. School starting at 8:20 is just way too early.

The video is geared for teens and young adults who are interested in learning more about rhetoric. 5. Langston's thoughts are organized in an essay-like format, with an introduction, three key points (ethos, logos, and pathos), and then with a conclusion. 6. Langston shows her authority by citing well-known figures such as Aristotle and speaking in a professional yet succinct manner. 7. Langston wishes to elicit from the reader feelings of knowledge and curiosity. 8. Ethos, logos, and pathos are the three primary categories Langston uses to organize her logical argument. She explains what each is, how to apply it, and how it relates to rhetoric, as well as providing examples of each one. 9. Citations of research, such as Sojourner Truth's case for women's rights, and instances of pathos employed in advertising, such as a beauty treatment that claims to ease your physical anxieties, are two rhetorical tactics utilized in the film. 10. By presenting a compelling case with factual evidence and logical reasoning to back my claim, I may utilize rhetorical tactics such as logic and facts to obtain what I want. |
